Google Business listing is another example of the great functionality of Google Maps. Google collects business listings information from multiple sources. (off-line and online) Google allows business owners to create and verify their own new location data through *Google Business Profile, formerly Google my business. *Once a business location is confirmed, owners are encouraged to provide Google with factual Business information like; address, phone number, business category, photos, and posts, plus more options and additional information.
Google Maps can be manipulated. There are cases of people abusing Google Maps to overtake their competition by placing unverified listings. The people who update these listings do not use a registered business name. Keywords and location details are placed on their Google Maps business title, which can overtake credible business listings (so-called keyword stuffing).

Google Maps API
It allows developers and programmers to retrieve data from maps and/or embed it into mobile apps and websites. Is a Google Map API free of charge? Yes - requests are available free of charge with some limit of use. At this moment, free Google API does not contain ads, but Google reserve the right to display ads in the future - so expect it soon.
My Maps
It is a feature in launched in April 2007 that enables users to create their own maps for personal use or sharing. Users can add their own data like points, notes, own routes, and images on top of Google Maps using an editor. For mobile devices, this map application was released in March 2013 under the name Google Maps Engine Lite and was available until its removal from the Play Store in October 2021
